Insurance and Therapy:
Pax Family Counseling is a relational practice. This means the training and expertise is in relationships and how they impact our mental health, romantic connections, families, careers and life satisfaction. Here, clients are not viewed as a medical diagnosis. Therefore, insurance is not billed directly. Please know there are important factors to know when billing insurance. Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis that stays on your permanent health record in order to receive counseling. They usually dictate how many sessions you may receive and the type of therapy you are permitted to engage in. Pax Family Counseling believes this should be decided privately between you and your therapist. Furthermore, please note that many insurance companies do not cover couples or marriage counseling.
If you would like to use your insurance you may qualify for Out of Network coverage. This means that if a diagnosis is founded and directly being addressed in counseling, Pax Family Counseling can provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
